Fast, Reliable, Proven transactional storage for MySQL
Hot Backup Licensing
To run the program, you must accept the terms of the InnoDB Hot Backup License. (HTML) (PDF)
License types
There is currently no special process or pricing for renewing a 1-year license. You may order a new (1-year or perpetual) license (and you may you may also wish to order a trial license you can immediately and temporarily use).
Server-based Licensing
InnoDB Hot Backup licenses are bound to the hostname of a server computer. With virtualization technology, each virtualized server (“virtual machine”) is considered a separate server, and requires a separate license for InnoDB Hot Backup.
You need a license for every server on which you will perform backups. You do not need a license for the computer(s) on which you will perform database recovery. You may use InnoDB Hot Backup to perform a recovery even if the term of the original license for the backup machine has expired.
Transferring a license, volume and embedded licenses
You can transfer your license to another computer, as long as you run one licensed copy on one computer only. To transfer a license, please contact us via email to innodb_sales_ww at oracle.com.
Non-hostname-bound licenses are available in large volume orders (minimum five (5) licenses) and for special applications.
If you are an OEM or ISV and you embed MySQL Enterprise including InnoDB in your product, you can buy InnoDB Hot Backup licenses at a very substantial discount. Please contact innodb_sales_ww at oracle.com or use our contact form to request a price quote for bundled perpetual, non-hostname-bound InnoDB Hot Backup licenses for embedded use.
Support
InnoDB Hot Backup licenses do not include support, which must be purchased separately, and is provided under these terms.
