To run the program, you must accept the terms of the InnoDB Hot Backup license. With a 1-year license, you may use the software only during the 1 year term of the license and you are entitled to upgrade versions issued during that year. There is currently no special renewal process or pricing. You may order a new (1-year or perpetual) license (and you may you may also wish to order a trial license you can immediately and temporarily use). With a perpetual license, you may use the software indefinitely, and are entitled to upgrade versions issued for 3 years following the date of the purchase.
An InnoDB Hot Backup license is bound to the hostname of a server computer. You can transfer your license to another computer, as long as you run one licensed copy on one computer only. To transfer a license, please contact us via email to innodb_sales_ww at oracle.com. Non-hostname-bound licenses are available in large volume orders (minimum five (5) licenses) and for special applications.
With virtualization technology, each virtualized server (”virtual machine”) is considered a separate server, and requires a separate license for InnoDB Hot Backup.
You need a license for every server on which you will perform backups. You do not need a license for the server(s) on which you will perform database recovery. You may use InnoDB Hot Backup to perform a recovery even if the term of the original license for the backup machine has expired.
Prices of licenses are subject to change. Discounts are available for large volume orders starting at 20,000 euros. Email us or use this contact form for a price quote.
The price does not include the local Value Added Tax or Sales Tax, or a possible local withholding tax on license payments. It is the responsibility of the importer to declare the import to tax officials and to pay the local VAT and a possible local withholding tax.
Support
InnoDB Hot Backup licenses do not include support, which must be purchased separately.
Support covers a maximum of 10 emails replied per year, per customer, regardless of the number of servers licensed. InnoDB Hot Backup support is provided under these terms. Questions in email must concern InnoDB Hot Backup; for general MySQL/InnoDB support you must buy a separate support contract from MySQL AB.
